English Cottage Christmas Home Tour 2020

Hello friends & welcome! Today you are invited to enjoy our very first Christmas home tour! We’ve combined thrifted, vintage, and antique home décor for an English cottage style Christmas. C’mon in & grab some hot cocoa!

This elegant antique French mirror was hiding in the back of a thrift store for me ~ at less than $5! I love how it adds dimension and the illusion of more space to the kitchen.

Wooden rocking horse with plaid wrapped gifts, a woven basket of evergreens and Christmas plates on a shelf

This little wooden rocking horse is a favorite with the children. He comes bearing gifts and sporting a festive neck tie.

Wooden hutch decorated for Christmas with a violin, crystal chandelier, nativity and a plaid tablecloth below

Of all the festive areas in the house the hutch is Matt’s favorite ~ and mine too! It is elegant, homey, and festive all at once.

Christmas dining table with red plaid cloth, green-rimmed tree pattern plates, pinecones, candles and red roses

Just looking at this Christmas table setting I can hardly wait for the dinner we have planned to share with our neighbor very soon! This time of year is full of opportunities to share and bless others. We have so much to be grateful for!

Matt requested the magic of a Christmas village in the Christmas décor. What a great idea! I love the added whimsy  this brings to our home. This one was both gifted and thrifted (the best!). To unify the different styles and colors I spray painted them white.

White ceramic Christmas village church and cottages with a snowy penguin figure among bottle brush trees

This might be my next favorite Christmas décor… One day when antiquing with Matt & his Mom she & I admired these vintage hand painted eggs. We left them there, but I could not stop thinking of them. Finally I messaged her to see if they were still available & I’d pay her for them. They were still there & she even shipped them to me! I love the magic of them dangling from the garland glittering and sparkling…

Nothing says cozy on a cold winter’s day like a hot, crackling fire.

How blessed we are that the best gift of all time, Jesus Christ, has been given to all!

Warmly,

Rachel
